TILL WALLS DO US APART: FROM WALL CLIMBING TO ADOPTION
What are the odds of two dog besties climbing walls together to stay close – and ending up getting adopted together? Yep, life brings all kinds of interesting coincidences, as you’re about to read.
From wall climbing to being adopted under the same roof
This is the story of Brenda and Linda, two shelter dogs who were adored on social media for leaping across kennels just to exchange greetings and hang out a little. But little did they know that they would one day be taken away – to be adopted in the same home!
Well, then – how did this happen exactly? Was it actually coincidence or did it have anything to do with a special plan?
Let’s start with the two pit bulls’ fame. MACC (Minneapolis Animal Care and Control) saw recorded security camera footage of Brenda attempting to scale a 5-foot high kennel wall just to be with her bestie, Linda. Naturally, they couldn’t resist and shared it on social media. Who wouldn’t, right?
Initially, the shelter personnel were puzzled and couldn’t figure out how the two ended up in the same kennel. It wasn’t until they reviewed the security cameras’ footage that they realised it was a rather daring act of friendship.
As one might imagine, the video went viral, and around this time, MACC staff decided to move the two canines into a larger kennel each – becoming more hopeful that perhaps the bold and beautiful buddies would be adopted together.
Little did they know that this dream would soon become a reality.
In a TikTok clip accompanied by Weezer’s “Happy Together”, MACC declared that Linda and Brenda had found a home together. The funny thing is, they found their forever home just a day after the security footage went viral.
The TikTok clip shows Linda and Brenda excitedly making their way out of the shelter, tugging towards the exit, eager to see their new abode. Ah, if only words could describe how happy the two were to find a new home together.
The caption of the TikTok video says it all, a big win indeed for both MACC employees and the two doggie besties:
"Brenda and Linda found their furever home TOGETHER! Thank you to all our frens who shared to make this pawsible for them."
Final thoughts on Linda and Brenda’s friendship
This example should serve well for all of us – as a community, there’s always more we can do to help animals in need. Taking an animal in (or two) is one of the sweetest and noblest thing you can ever do.
After all, animals need a place they can call home too, and when they find loving people to look after them, it’s practically like heaven on Earth for them.
