Happy Hounds Est. 2015

Happy Hounds was founded in 2015 by Emily Walden who grew up in North Yorkshire and moved to Winchester after finishing her degree in Estate Management. After training as a property surveyor, Emily chose to change her career and focus on a business that incorporates her love for dogs and the great outdoors!

Emily started walking dogs locally in and around Winchester, and she quickly gained more and more clients. Many of Emily’s clients started asking her if she could do day care and overnight care as well as dog walking, and so the business evolved. Within 6 months of starting Happy Hounds, Emily had employed a full time day care assistant, and started converting an old dairy barn in to a fully equipped doggy day care centre, featuring a small dog food shop.

As time has gone on, Happy Hounds has established itself as the premier dog care business in the area, focusing on providing a one stop shop for dog owners, by providing all dog care services under one roof. The company now has a team of six experienced canine carers, all of whom are trained to the highest level in their field, and most importantly all share Emily’s passion for dogs.

In 2018 Emily qualified as a Level 3 dog groomer, and introduced dog grooming to the list of services on offer at Happy Hounds. With a modern grooming salon, Happy Hounds started to provide breed specific grooms, as well as hand stripping, de-shedding, and wash and blow dry’s… the company also offer a ‘Puppy’s first groom’ service.

Being a dog owner herself, Emily and her team are hugely aware of the importance of a reliable professional dog care service. A dog is a member of your family, so whether you are entrusting a company with them for a walk or day care whilst you’re at work, you expect your four legged family member to be having an amazing time, in a safe environment, surrounded by people who love caring for animals.
