‘Tis The Season… Puppy Season!

Puppies can start coming to daycare once they’ve had their second set of vaccinations. We start puppies on half days to get them used to daycare and used to socialising with dogs of all ages, shapes and breeds. And once they’ve done a couple sessions and are comfortable in daycare we increase it to full days.

It can be quite scary when your puppy starts daycare as it’s a bunch of new smells and new experiences but we make sure that we give your puppy the support they need so there confidence will grow and they are happy. Some puppies take longer then others to adjust so we have sure that socialisation takes as much time as it needs and we introduce them to the other dogs gradually.

We understand how worrying it can be when your puppy first comes to daycare so we can take photos and videos to update you on how your puppy is doing throughout there time at daycare!!

Getting puppies socialised from a young age is so important because as they grow it helps them to be more confident around other dogs and less reactive to other dogs. It also helps them to learn how to interact with other dogs, learn how to play and when not to play from spending time with the other dogs. It helps them to learn to read signals that are given from the other dogs. Starting the puppies in daycare when they are young also helps there relationship with the staff.

Once your puppy is 8 months they will be able to begin going on group dogs walks which will also help there socialisation and confidence in a group walk setting. It will also help their recall in a group setting and help to work on their focusing with many distractions.
